Dr. Eng. Jeremías Gaia Amorós is conducting a two-month research stay at the Argentine Institute of Radioastronomy (IAR, CONICET–CIC–UNLP), as part of the collaboration between IAR and the National University of San Juan (UNSJ).
The research stay aims to advance the development of CHALÚ-X, a dual-band communications module for CubeSat-type satellites, developed as part of a joint project between both institutions.
Integration of space systems
During this period, Dr. Eng. Gaia will work alongside the IAR team in developing and integrating the communication system between the satellite's onboard computer and the communications module, using a Zynq FPGA platform and space protocols.
The work also includes system validation with real hardware and the application of space systems development methodologies under specific standards, leveraging the knowledge and specialized infrastructure available at IAR.
Knowledge transformed into capability
The research stay represents an opportunity to strengthen knowledge transfer and scientific-technological collaboration between IAR and UNSJ, generating capabilities and developments that will contribute to future space systems projects.
